Rain and strong winds expected across Iceland today

Icelanders can expect a day of unsettled weather, with rain and strong southwesterly winds sweeping across much of the country. The capital region, Reykjavik, will see winds ranging from 5 to 13 meters per second, accompanied by rain.

Across the rest of the country, winds are predicted to reach 8 to 15 meters per second, particularly in the southern and western areas, where rain or drizzle is expected. However, the intensity of the precipitation is forecast to decrease by this evening, offering some respite.

Looking ahead to tomorrow, the weather is expected to become calmer. Winds will shift to a southwesterly or variable direction, blowing at a gentler 3 to 8 meters per second. While scattered showers are still possible, the overall conditions are predicted to be less severe. Temperatures nationwide are expected to range between 10 and 19 degrees Celsius, with the warmest conditions anticipated in the eastern part of the island.
