Rain and Thunderstorms Set to Sweep Across Lithuania as Forecasters Issue New Outlook

A low-pressure system north of Lithuania will shape Wednesday’s weather, bringing cloudy skies with occasional clear spells. The western part of the country should see longer periods of sunshine in the afternoon.

Showers will pass through many areas, and thunderstorms may develop, particularly in the northeast. Southwesterly and westerly winds will be fairly strong, with gusts reaching 15 meters per second in some places and along the coast.

Temperatures will reach 17 to 20 degrees Celsius in most areas, with 21 to 22 degrees possible in the south. Overnight into Thursday, clouds will thin somewhat, but local showers will continue, mainly in western districts. Coastal thunderstorms are possible before dawn.

Clouds will thicken again on Thursday, bringing showers to almost the entire country and occasional thunderstorms. Friday will be cloudier still, with intermittent rain nationwide and locally heavy downpours. Temperatures will range from 11 to 16 degrees overnight and 16 to 21 degrees during the day.
