Rain hits parts of UAE, weather body expects drop in temperatures on Thursday

Scattered rainfall brought varying intensities of rain to several areas across the United Arab Emirates on Tuesday. The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) reported precipitation in locations including Margham in Dubai.

The NCM anticipates further rainfall, particularly in the eastern and southern regions of the country on Wednesday afternoon. This follows a day where temperatures reached a high of 50.3°C in Madinat Zayed and Mezaira’a in the Al Dhafra region. The forecast for Wednesday suggests a mix of clear to partly cloudy skies, with a possibility of convective clouds forming in the afternoon, potentially accompanied by showers.

Looking ahead, a noticeable drop in temperatures is expected on Thursday. Winds are predicted to shift from southeasterly to northwesterly, becoming light to moderate and occasionally active, stirring up dust at speeds ranging from 10 to 25 km/h, gusting up to 40 km/h. Morning humidity in western areas may lead to fog or light fog formation.
