Rain likely across much of Bangladesh over next 24 hours

Rain is expected across much of Bangladesh over the next 24 hours, with the Meteorological Department forecasting light to moderate rain or thunderstorms and temporary gusty winds in many areas.

The forecast covers many places in Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions, and a few places in Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram. Moderately heavy to heavy rain may occur in parts of the country.

Day and night temperatures are likely to remain nearly unchanged. Rajshahi recorded the highest temperature on Friday at 34.5 degrees Celsius, while Sylhet recorded the lowest temperature on Saturday at 23.7 degrees. Feni received the most rain in the 24 hours to 6 a.m., with 61 millimeters recorded.
