Rain will lash Lithuania during the first weekend of autumn

The first autumn weekend will bring widespread rain, strong winds and a sharp chill to Lithuania. Many districts will see intermittent showers, while some areas may face heavy rain and isolated thunderstorms.

Winds will strengthen from the southwest and west. On the coast, they will turn northwest, with gusts reaching 15 to 20 meters per second in many places and up to 23 meters per second along the coast.

Showers will continue into Sunday night as the country moves into the rear of the cyclone. Coastal areas may still receive heavy rain. Winds will shift to the northwest and west and ease to 8 to 13 meters per second, though coastal gusts may remain as high as 15 to 18 meters per second.

Temperatures will fall to 9 to 14 degrees Celsius overnight. During Sunday, the northeastern edge of an anticyclone will gradually approach from the west. Pressure will rise, but brief rain will remain possible in many districts. Winds will stay from the northwest and west at around 9 to 14 meters per second, while daytime temperatures reach 17 to 21 degrees.
