Rakuten Monkeys' ace Ryan Verblitz nearing return, expected back next week

The Rakuten Monkeys have received positive news regarding their ace pitcher, Ryan Verblitz, who is anticipated to return to the team's rotation next week. Verblitz, who has been sidelined with injuries, made a rehab start recently, pitching 2.1 innings and allowing two runs.

Manager Tseng Hao-chu confirmed Verblitz's readiness, stating, "Verblitz had no issues after pitching yesterday, and he will join the rotation next week." This return is a significant boost for the Monkeys, who have dealt with numerous injuries to their pitching staff during the first half of the season.

In addition to Verblitz's impending return, Tseng also provided an update on pitcher Lu Yung-chen. He noted that Lu's rehabilitation process for his elbow injury has been progressing smoothly. However, the manager expressed a desire for Lu to be fully prepared before rejoining the active roster, suggesting he needs more time to recover and regain his form.
