Rally FIA/Codasur: Cordillera to host 4th round of South American championship

Paraguay is set to host the fourth round of the FIA/Codasur South American Rally Championship, with the event scheduled to take place in Cordillera from July 24 to 26. This decision comes after Bolivia was unable to stage the rally due to its ongoing sociopolitical and economic crisis.

The FIA Codasur Rally Championship informs that, after a meeting led by the authorities of each of the involved associations and subject to the approval of the FIA Rally Commission and the corresponding Sports Commission, it has been resolved to accept Paraguay's candidacy to host the fourth round of the 2026 calendar.

This will be the second time Paraguay hosts a leg of the continental championship this season. The country previously hosted the third round in the department of Guairá in May. The Touring and Automóvil Club Paraguayo (TACPy) confirmed the change, noting that the decision was made by consensus among involved parties due to "force majeure circumstances."

We appreciate the effort made by the Bolivian Automobile Club authorities to sustain the commitment and hope to count on Bolivia's presence in the calendar again in the near future.

While Bolivia was removed from the calendar, organizers expressed hope for its return in the future. The exact epicenter for the Cordillera rally is still being finalized. The championship features prominent drivers such as Paraguay's Alejandro Galanti and Marcelo Toyotoshi, and Argentinians Miguel Baldoni and Gustavo Franchello.
