Ransom notes in Nancy Guthrie disappearance claim she is buried in nature

Authorities have released details of two ransom notes connected to the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of American news anchor Savannah Guthrie. Nancy Guthrie was last seen at her home in Tucson, Arizona, on January 31.

The Pima County Sheriff's Office disclosed that two notes were sent to a local television station on February 2 and February 6. The first note contained a ransom demand and a threat to Nancy Guthrie's life. The second note, however, claimed that she had passed away from a cardiac issue and was buried in a natural area, stating, "She is now buried in nature. We are truly sorry."

Investigators are hoping that the public can provide clues by recognizing the handwriting or specific language patterns used in the notes. They are appealing for anyone who may have noticed unusual behavior from a person close to them to come forward with information. The FBI is also involved in the investigation.

Savannah Guthrie has made a public plea on Instagram, expressing her family's continued hope despite their heartbreak. She urged anyone with any information, suspicions, or observations of anything strange or unusual to share what they know, emphasizing that there is a way to resolve the situation and "do the right thing."
