Raphinha and Yamal score twice as Barcelona beat Vallecano 5-2

Raphinha and Lamine Yamal each scored twice as Barcelona swept aside Rayo Vallecano 5-2 at Camp Nou, preserving the club’s perfect start to the season and sending it to the top of LaLiga.

Vallecano struck first in the 12th minute. Alvaro Garcia beat Jules Kounde and played the ball into the box, where Sergio Camello finished past Joan Garcia. Barcelona responded seven minutes later when Raphinha collected a quick pass from Xavi Espart, moved into the area and fired home.

Yamal put Barcelona ahead two minutes after that with a curling left-footed shot into the top corner. The goal marked his 50th for the Catalan club. Barcelona appeared to add another when Kounde followed up a spilled save by Daniel Cardenas, but a VAR review ruled the effort offside.

The hosts extended their lead in the 51st minute when Anthony Gordon’s cross deflected off Florian Lejeune and went into the net. Camello headed in from Unai Lopez’s corner in the 59th minute, but Raphinha restored Barcelona’s two-goal advantage 20 minutes from time after Gordon set him up with a back heel.

Yamal completed the scoring in the 90th minute, sending Karim Adeyemi’s short pass into the bottom corner from outside the box. Barcelona now lead the table with nine points, ahead of Real Madrid on goal difference. Vallecano sit 18th with one point and no wins.
