Rapid snatch all three points at Galați with last-gasp Pașcanu header

Rapid left Galați with all three points, but only after waiting until the final play of the match. Alexandru Pașcanu headed in from a corner in the third minute of stoppage time to secure a 1-0 victory over Oțelul.

The match began with a brief interruption after supporters set off flares in the stands. Oțelul created the first chance in the sixth minute, when Nuno Pedro's long-range shot caused no trouble for Rapid goalkeeper Ungureanu. Pedro tried again from distance in the 32nd minute, but this time the goalkeeper made an important save.

Rapid's best opportunity before the goal came in the 71st minute. Dobre's long-range effort was parried by Dur-Bozoancă toward Stolijkovic, who struck the goalkeeper from a good position.

Oțelul went down to 10 players in the 78th minute when Patrick received a second yellow card. The game appeared headed for a draw until Pașcanu's decisive header in the 90+3rd minute.

The win puts Rapid second in the domestic standings with 15 points. Oțelul sits 10th with 10 points. Rapid next faces FC Voluntari on September 12, while Oțelul plays U Cluj on September 14.
