The Bolivian Chamber of Real Estate Developers (CBDI) proposes to open a debate to build the "Vision Santa Cruz 2075," a long-term agenda that brings together authorities, universities, businesses, and social organizations to define the urban growth of the capital of Santa Cruz for the next 50 years.

CBDI highlights that Santa Cruz, once a model for attracting investment and economic growth, now faces significant challenges. These include mobility issues, housing shortages, inadequate infrastructure and public services, sustainability concerns, and a declining quality of life. The city also struggles to attract investment, talent, and innovation amidst global competition. To overcome these hurdles, CBDI emphasizes the need for clear regulations, legal certainty, and planning that extends beyond short-term political cycles.

More than half a century ago, a generation had the ability to imagine a city larger than what existed. That vision allowed for attracting investments, creating opportunities, and turning Santa Cruz into the main economic engine of the country. Today, it is time to take on a similar challenge.

The chamber advocates for responsible real estate development as a strategic partner in addressing these issues. They argue that each project creates jobs, stimulates over 40 related economic activities, and contributes to urban renewal when integrated into comprehensive planning. Drawing on international experience, CBDI suggests that sustainable urban growth requires smart densification, efficient public transport, ample green spaces, and quality infrastructure. The focus should be on guiding development toward areas capable of supporting growth and improving residents' living conditions.
