Reality show producer denies racism in contestant's controversial comment

Rosa María Noguerón, a producer of the reality show "La casa de los famosos México," has responded to controversy surrounding a comment made by participant Ese Pérez to fellow contestant Masad Altamimi.

Pérez's remarks, made during an elimination gala, questioned Altamimi's involvement in cleaning tasks and alluded to his religion. "I want you to leave the house because you are, but not for me. I understand you exercise a lot, but I've never seen you wash the bathroom, I've never seen you wash a shower. I don't know if your religion doesn't allow it," Pérez said.

The comment sparked outrage among viewers and Altamimi himself, with many accusing Pérez of racism. However, Noguerón defended the show's dynamics and denied any discriminatory intent behind Pérez's statement.

"They are the ones playing the game inside the house and they are the ones who raise their hand when a moment comes when they feel uncomfortable. I do not consider that there has been any racist comment," Noguerón stated during a photography exhibition. She emphasized that the participants themselves are responsible for addressing discomfort within the house.

Noguerón further explained that the conflict was resolved between the two individuals. "I think it was a discussion between two men, on equal terms, in which both felt offended and then they fixed it and apologized to each other," she said. The producer indicated that the incident did not escalate further and was settled internally by the contestants.
