Said Abdullah, Chairman of the PDI Perjuangan East Java DPD for 2025-2030, emphasized the distinct viewpoints of today's youth compared to previous generations. He asserted that open and equitable dialogue spaces are crucial for ensuring that the ideas, criticisms, and aspirations of young Indonesians are heard. "For us, the voice of young people is the voice of idealism, because they are not yet bound by various interests," Abdullah stated.

Abdullah explained that the current generation of young people, encompassing Gen Y, Gen Z, and early Gen Alpha, are navigating both the physical and digital realms. This dual existence provides them with significantly more complex social experiences than earlier generations. "Today's young people live in two worlds. They are connected to various events around the globe through digital technology. Therefore, they have broader, more critical perspectives and can compare various conditions occurring in many places," he observed.

This evolving landscape necessitates a shift in communication strategies between policymakers, political parties, and young people. Abdullah argued that one-way communication is no longer effective in addressing contemporary dynamics. "Young people do not want to just be listeners. They want to be heard. Therefore, communication with young people must be dialogical, exchanging ideas, not just conveying messages unilaterally," he stressed, underscoring the importance of RedTalks as a platform designed to facilitate this exchange.
