Ren-Ben Launches Summer Courses with Du Zheng-sheng, Zhang Juan-fen Teaching

The Ren-Ben Education Foundation has officially launched its "Sen Xiao Fu Da" summer courses, designed to promote lifelong learning and civic education. These programs aim to provide diverse learning opportunities outside the traditional school system, catering to individuals' interests and needs.

The curriculum is structured into three main colleges: the "Parent College," "Education College," and "National Defense College." The "National Defense College" features prominent academics such as Academia Sinica academician Du Zheng-sheng and Professor Zhang Guo-cheng, who will explore historical contexts, international relations, national security, and social issues. This interdisciplinary approach seeks to equip participants with a broader perspective on public affairs.

The "Education College" is tailored for teachers and educational professionals, offering courses on parent-teacher communication, teaching methodologies, and practical classroom challenges. The goal is to support educators in navigating the evolving demands of the educational landscape. Meanwhile, the "Parent College" focuses on family education and parental growth, including a specific course on ADHD parenting led by Associate Professor Weng Shi-heng, designed to help parents understand and support children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.

Notably, "Sen Xiao Fu Da" is introducing a self-created credit system for the first time. Upon completing courses, participants can accumulate credits, earn completion certificates, and work towards graduation diplomas. This initiative is part of the foundation's broader vision to establish a model for a private civic university. The foundation also offers discounted rates for teachers and university students to encourage wider participation in lifelong learning. Future plans include further developing the course offerings and credit system to build a comprehensive private educational platform that integrates knowledge acquisition, civic empowerment, and social engagement.
