Renan Santos reports death threat from alleged USP student

Presidential candidate Renan Santos has reported a death threat to the Federal Police, which he claims was issued by a man identifying himself as a University of São Paulo (USP) student. The threat emerged from an online discussion forum and was later deleted.

Santos, a leader of the MBL (Free Brazil Movement), is scheduled to hold a campaign event on Sunday at USP's Law School in São Paulo. The alleged threat stated that the author had been monitoring Santos for months and intended to kill him if he appeared at the Largo São Francisco campus.

This incident occurs amid protests by USP students against Santos's planned appearance at the university. Santos himself attended USP's law program starting in 2003 but did not complete his degree. His campaign has been leveraging his past connection to the institution, using slogans like, "USP has already elected 13 presidents, it's time to elect the 14th."

The candidate's team provided the Federal Police with screenshots of the threatening messages, which were posted on a forum frequented by left-wing sympathizers. The investigation is ongoing as authorities assess the credibility and source of the threat.
