Renewed Hope Ambassadors will partner campaign council for Tinubu’s reelection –Uzodimma

Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma said the Renewed Hope Ambassadors had not been dissolved and would partner with the All Progressives Congress presidential campaign council in President Bola Tinubu’s reelection effort.

Speaking at an emergency meeting in Abuja, Uzodimma said the group remained separate from the newly formed campaign structure, although the two would work together. He called the meeting after reports that coordinators and members in some states feared the organisation might be disbanded.

“Nothing has changed,” Uzodimma told members. He said the campaign council was created for election purposes, while the Renewed Hope Ambassadors would continue its broader work beyond the election. The organisation’s media tour across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones is already highlighting what it describes as the achievements of Tinubu’s administration.

Nothing has changed. The constitution of the presidential campaign council is a political issue that happens every time there is an election.

Uzodimma said the organisation was established by Tinubu to educate Nigerians about the government and explain the difference between Nigeria before 2023 and the country afterward. He described the group as the president’s permanent political structure, contrasting it with the temporary campaign council.

He also announced that the group would work with the Progressive Governors Forum and local government chairmen to convene a summit of elected and appointed political officeholders in the third week of September. Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima are expected to address the gathering.
