Reniec to Distribute Free IDs in 5 Lima Districts Affected by Floods

The National Registry of Identification and Civil Status (Reniec) is launching a series of free documentation campaigns in five districts of Lima Metropolitana that have been severely affected by recent heavy rains. This initiative aims to provide crucial access to National Identity Documents (DNI) for residents who may have lost theirs or had them damaged due to the adverse weather conditions.

The campaigns are set to commence on Thursday, August 27, and will extend through September in districts including Villa El Salvador, San Juan de Miraflores, San Juan de Lurigancho, Chorrillos, and Villa María del Triunfo. Reniec is coordinating with local authorities to establish service points in municipal buildings, health centers, and other accessible locations within each jurisdiction.

Operating hours for these services will primarily be from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. However, the specific dates and exact locations will vary by district, with detailed schedules provided for each area. For instance, in Villa El Salvador, services will be available on Mondays and Fridays at the Villa del Adulto Mayor until September 25. San Juan de Miraflores will host services on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Municipal Palace until September 29.

San Juan de Lurigancho residents can access the services on Thursdays at the Subgerencia de Programas Sociales until September 24. Chorrillos will have its campaign running from August 27 to September 24, with services offered on Thursdays at the Demuna. In Villa María del Triunfo, Reniec plans to distribute services across various health centers, including the Villa María del Triunfo and Tablada maternal and child centers, to ensure accessibility for residents in affected zones.
