Report: Suspected attacker on CSD in Berlin shot dead in police operation

The suspect in the Berlin Christopher Street Day (CSD) attack, who drove a vehicle into a crowd, has reportedly been killed during a police operation. German broadcaster RBB reported that the operation took place in a Spandau allotment garden complex. A search for the alleged perpetrator, identified as 21-year-old Abdul B., had been underway with high intensity.

Authorities have not yet officially confirmed the report. The suspect is believed to be from an Islamist background. The incident occurred on Saturday evening near the CSD event in Berlin's Tiergarten, where a woman was killed and 29 people sustained injuries, some severe. The German federal government has classified the event as an Islamist attack.

This report follows earlier news from Greek media outlet Ta Nea, which also stated that the alleged perpetrator was killed during a police operation. The situation remains fluid as official confirmations are pending.
