Ohio Republican Congressman Max Miller is under increasing pressure to resign following serious domestic abuse allegations made by his ex-wife, Emily Moreno, and former girlfriend, Stephanie Grisham. Miller, 37, who represents Ohio's seventh congressional district, has vehemently denied all accusations while campaigning for re-election.

Moreno, a policy adviser, has detailed disturbing incidents, including an alleged instance where Miller "took hot water from a pan he had just cooked eggs in and threw it at me." She also accused him of holding a gun to her head. Moreno testified about these allegations during a defamation lawsuit Miller filed against her. The couple, who married in 2022, are currently engaged in a custody battle over their two-year-old daughter.

Miller's response to Moreno's allegations, as reported by Spectrum News in June, was a denial: "They're false allegations. Our divorce was finalized on December 18 in 2025. No police reports were ever filed." He also claimed on X that Moreno's father, Ohio Republican Senator Bernie Moreno, was enabling his daughter's "malicious campaign to ruin my life" despite knowledge of her mental health issues.

Senator Moreno's office stated that his "top priority is the safety and well-being of his daughter and granddaughter" and that he would "do whatever it takes to ensure a just outcome for his family." Meanwhile, Stephanie Grisham, former White House press secretary under Donald Trump, has also accused Miller of abuse. She wrote about an abusive relationship in a 2021 Washington Post op-ed, which Miller acknowledged referred to him. Although Miller sued Grisham for defamation, he later dropped the suit as part of a settlement. Grisham has since filed a new lawsuit, alleging Miller violated the settlement terms.
