Residential building fire in Kastl injures several people

Several people sustained injuries, primarily from smoke inhalation, after a fire engulfed a residential building in Kastl, located in the Altötting district of Bavaria. The blaze erupted early in the evening, rapidly consuming the first upper floor and the roof structure.

All nine residents managed to escape the burning building. However, one individual required treatment for moderate smoke inhalation, with several others receiving care for minor injuries. The intensity of the smoke also caused respiratory discomfort for some local residents, who were advised to close their windows and avoid outdoor activity.

Fire crews responded swiftly, successfully containing the fire and preventing its spread to surrounding areas. The estimated damage to the property is substantial, likely falling within the mid to high six-figure range. Authorities have initiated an investigation into the unknown cause of the fire.
