Resilience of Polish SMEs to be a key economic topic this autumn

The resilience and competitiveness of Polish small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) will be a central theme at the "Ready for the Future" conference, scheduled for September 24 at the Wrocław Technology Park. Organized by the park itself, the event aims to bring together representatives from businesses, public administration, academia, and other business support institutions. Together, they will explore actionable strategies to enhance the resilience and competitiveness of the Polish economy.

Maciej Potocki, President of the Wrocław Technology Park, emphasized the conference's focus on practical solutions rather than distant forecasts. "We want to talk about solutions, partnerships, and decisions that help entrepreneurs develop innovations, implement technologies, and build a competitive advantage," Potocki stated. He added that readiness for change should involve proactively building cooperation and investing in development, creating an environment where Polish firms can confidently pursue new opportunities.

A significant takeaway from recent years is that business development increasingly relies on external factors beyond individual firms. Access to knowledge, new technologies, research infrastructure, and funding, along with collaboration with universities and public institutions, are becoming crucial. The conference will facilitate discussions on implementing new technologies, fostering innovation, knowledge transfer, and enabling SMEs to access research facilities and build supportive partnerships.

The event will feature Professor Witold Orłowski, a prominent Polish economist, as a special guest. He will deliver a keynote speech titled "The Future is Change. Let's Face It Boldly and Together," offering his assessment of the key challenges facing the Polish economy and entrepreneurship. A subsequent Q&A session will allow participants to engage directly with the expert on the future direction of the Polish economy and the factors driving business competitiveness. A debate among representatives from Poland's leading science and technology parks will also explore their role in supporting entrepreneurs, commercializing research, and facilitating technology transfer.
