Rewa overcomes Navua in an epic comeback

Rewa FC staged a remarkable comeback to defeat Navua 2-1 in their opening match of the 2026 BiC Fiji FACT tournament held at Subrail Park.

Navua took a 1-0 lead into halftime. However, Rewa FC, known as the Delta Tigers, regrouped and began to assert dominance in the second half. Their persistence paid off when co-captain Tevita Waranivalu equalized with a header from a corner kick shortly after the break.

The turnaround was completed in the 59th minute when Kavaia Rawaqa found the back of the net, giving Rewa the lead. The team then defended resolutely for the remainder of the match, successfully holding off Navua's attempts to equalize and securing all three points.

Waranivalu commended his teammates for their resilience and effort, especially after conceding the initial lead. "Just want to thank the boys for their efforts, holding the fort and keeping Navua at bay. It wasn’t easy, but they performed really well," he stated. Rewa will now prepare for their next pool match against Suva, scheduled for 2 p.m. tomorrow.
