Reykjavik Road Maintenance Extends Closures

Road maintenance in Reykjavik will cause extended closures on several streets on Thursday, June 11. The city's public works department has announced that Hagatorg will remain open until 4 p.m. instead of the usual 2 p.m., and Fálkagata will be accessible until 8 p.m., two hours later than scheduled.

These closures are part of ongoing paving and milling operations managed by Höfði and Colas. Throughout the week, residents can expect disruptions as work progresses. On Friday, June 12, paving will occur on Víðimel between Hofsvallagata and Kaplaskjólsvegur from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Milling operations are scheduled for Skógarsel, from Stokksel to Stúfsel, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Further disruptions are planned for Friday, June 12, with paving scheduled for Rauðarárstíg from Flótagata to Stórholt between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Milling will take place on Seljabraut (Seljskógar to Engjasel, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.), Háaleitisbraut (No. 14-36, street N, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.), Hvassaleiti (101-151, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.), Laugavegur (Barónsstíg to Víðistíg, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.), and Sölvhólsgata (Klapparstíg to Ingólfsstræti, 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.). On Saturday, June 13, paving will occur at Stangahyl (from Straumur to the end, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.) and Hádegismóar (6-8, 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.).
