Rimac Technology launches battery system production, plans 150 new jobs

Rimac Technology has officially commenced serial production of high-voltage battery systems at its expansive campus in Kerestinec, Zagreb. This move marks a significant step in bolstering the company's manufacturing capabilities and solidifies its position as a reliable Tier 1 partner for the global automotive industry.

The new production lines, presented to journalists, are currently in a testing phase. Rimac Technology independently develops and produces these advanced battery systems for several programs involving leading global automakers, including the BMW Group, which receives technology for its electric models like the new BMW i7. Approximately 200 employees, predominantly engineers, are already working on projects in Croatia, with plans to hire an additional 150 people by the end of the year specifically for serial production.

Mate Rimac, founder and president of Rimac Group, stated that the campus was designed from the outset for complex, highly specialized, and high-volume battery production for top automotive brands. "The production capacities of the Campus are completely filled, and we are planning their further expansion," Rimac noted. Nurdin Pitarević, CEO of Rimac Technology, highlighted that this collaboration confirms leading global manufacturers choose Rimac Technology for its continuous innovation. He also emphasized the company's speed in decision-making and execution, which provides a competitive edge of three to six months over rivals.

Rimac Technology anticipates a 40% revenue growth this year, building on last year's €245 million in revenue. The company is actively expanding its circle of partners among the world's leading car manufacturers, driven by its rapid development and production capabilities.
