Road Rehabilitation Begins on Pan-American Highway Lara-Trujillo After La Pastora Protests

Formal work has commenced on the rehabilitation of the Troncal 1 of the Pan-American Highway Lara-Trujillo, a vital artery for optimizing mobility, cargo transport, and commercial flow between the Lara and Trujillo states. National and regional authorities announced the joint effort, which aims to address deteriorated sections and restore traffic conditions through a comprehensive road plan.

However, the initiation of these works follows a significant protest. Last Thursday, residents of the La Pastora sector in the Torres municipality of Lara state blocked the highway. They were protesting the persistent delays in the start of the asphalting project, highlighting community frustration over unmet infrastructure promises.
