Road Repair Work Begins on Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda Highway Near Elektrėnai

Road repair work has commenced on a significant stretch of the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda highway near Elektrėnai, Lithuania, aiming to improve infrastructure and ensure smoother travel.

The project, undertaken by the infrastructure company "Via Lietuva" and executed by "Kauno tiltai," has a contract value of 20 million euros, including VAT. The scope of work involves repairing 26.56 kilometers of the roadway and one bridge. This year's focus will be on the left side of the road in the Kaunas–Vilnius direction, spanning approximately 10 kilometers from kilometer 39.72 to 50.00.

Initial traffic restrictions began on June 29, with the main road construction scheduled to start between July 9 and 10. Drivers are strongly urged to plan their journeys in advance and to strictly follow temporary road signs and safe speed requirements. The ongoing work will alter traffic organization, potentially leading to extended travel times.
