Road Repairs to Cause Travel Disruptions at Warsaw Chopin Airport

Drivers and passengers heading to Warsaw's Chopin Airport should prepare for significant travel disruptions as major road repairs commence on Żwirki i Wigury street. The renovation project is scheduled to begin on July 29 and is expected to last approximately three weeks, potentially causing considerable delays for those needing to reach the airport terminals.

The most critical phase of the repairs will occur between August 4 and 6, when the tunnel under the Jana Szala roundabout will be temporarily closed. During this period, exiting the airport towards the city center will be particularly challenging. Despite these upcoming inconveniences, the airport has stated that access from the city center will remain open throughout the renovation due to a phased approach to the work.

The airport authorities are urging travelers to plan their journeys with extra time, drive cautiously, and pay close attention to temporary road signage. The entire renovation project is slated for completion in the latter half of August. Chopin Airport, Poland's largest air hub, is undergoing expansion, with plans to increase its annual passenger capacity to over 30 million after modernization.
