Roadblocks erupt in Michoacán after alleged elite Army arrest

Michoacán authorities confirmed multiple roadblocks in the municipality of Los Reyes, reportedly stemming from a high-profile arrest by an elite Mexican Army unit. The State Center for Command, Communications, Computing, Control, Coordination, and Intelligence (C5) reported ongoing blockades on the Jacona–Los Reyes highway, the Los Reyes–Peribán road, and the Los Reyes–Uruapan highway.

Civilians have used vehicles to obstruct traffic, with some instances of vehicles being set on fire. The C5i advised motorists to exercise caution and stay informed through official channels. The situation has disrupted travel between Los Reyes and surrounding areas, including Tocumbo, Imbarácuaro, Pamatácuaro, and Peribán.

No official details regarding the identity of the arrested individual have been released. The area, which borders the state of Jalisco, has been the scene of significant security operations.
