Roads of Serbia: Tunnel Maintenance Near Pirot from May 14-18

Motorists traveling between Pirot and Niš in Serbia should be aware of upcoming traffic disruptions. Putevi Srbije, the state-owned road management company, has announced essential maintenance work set to take place within the Šarlah tunnel. This routine upkeep, specifically the washing of the tunnel, is scheduled to occur daily from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM between May 14 and May 18.

The maintenance will necessitate the closure of the driving lane in the left tunnel tube. Traffic heading from Pirot towards Niš will be redirected to use the overtaking lane. This measure is being implemented to ensure the safety and efficiency of the work while minimizing disruption as much as possible. Drivers are advised to pay close attention to the temporary traffic signals and equipment that will be in place to guide them through the affected area.
