Roadworks at Surčin interchange near Belgrade starting Wednesday, traffic changes planned

The Public Enterprise "Roads of Serbia" announced that roadworks will commence at the Surčin interchange on state road I A, number 1, starting Wednesday, August 5, at 12:00 PM, and concluding on Monday, August 10, at 9:00 AM. These works will necessitate significant traffic diversions and adjustments in the area.

Specifically, the exit lane and the off-ramp at the Surčin interchange will be closed for traffic heading from Niš/Čačak towards Surčin. Additionally, the on-ramp for traffic joining the highway towards Novi Sad/Belgrade will be affected. The right lane of state road II B, number 319, connecting Dobanovci and Surčin, will also be closed, with traffic rerouted to the left lane and managed by traffic signals.

Alternative routes have been established to mitigate the impact. For traffic heading from Niš/Čačak towards Surčin/Dobanovci, one option is to use the Dobanovci interchange, proceed through Dobanovci towards Surčin. Traffic in this zone will operate in the left lane with signal control. Another alternative from Niš/Čačak to Surčin/Dobanovci involves using the Surčin-South interchange, proceeding directly into Surčin, and then using the Surčin interchange to access Dobanovci.

For traffic heading from Surčin towards Novi Sad/Belgrade/Šid, one alternative route is via the Dobanovci interchange, then connecting to the Surčin interchange. Traffic on state road II B, number 319, in the work zone will use the left lane (right lane in the direction of travel) with signal control. A second alternative for this direction is to use the Surčin-South interchange to enter state road I A, number 1, towards Novi Sad/Belgrade/Šid. Traffic from Dobanovci heading towards Novi Sad/Belgrade/Šid can proceed directly via the Dobanovci interchange.
