Robbery Suspect Arrested in Paraguay for Using Minor as Accomplice

Police in Santa Rosa del Aguaray, Paraguay, have arrested a 24-year-old man accused of orchestrating robberies by using a minor to carry out the crimes. The operation, conducted by agents from the Department of Criminal Investigation and local police, culminated in the detention of José María Insfrán Mendoza.

The criminal scheme involved the suspect and a minor traveling on a motorcycle, both wearing helmets and face masks. The minor would then enter commercial establishments to commit the thefts. The investigation began when authorities identified the adolescent driving the motorcycle used in one of the assaults.

Following the minor's interception, police and the Public Ministry continued their investigation, leading to Mendoza's arrest during a joint police and prosecutor raid. Mendoza, who had an outstanding arrest warrant, was found on the street and subsequently detained. He has undergone a medical examination and is currently held at Police Station No. 18, awaiting further proceedings with the Public Ministry.

During the search of properties connected to the case, investigators confiscated items believed to be related to the robberies. These included a black and white helmet, a dark blue windbreaker jacket, and two pairs of jeans. The operation was overseen by prosecutor José Alberto Godoy, acting on a warrant issued by the Criminal Guarantees Court.
