Robbery Suspect Injures Two Police Officers with Air Gun, Sentenced to 8 Years and 10 Months

A former security guard, identified as 46-year-old Chen, has been sentenced to 8 years and 10 months in prison for a violent robbery and for injuring two police officers. The incident occurred when Chen targeted his former supervisor at the security company.

Chen entered the company office armed with four knives and an air gun. He confronted his ex-supervisor, demanding 200,000 NT dollars and forcibly taking over 50,000 NT dollars and 3,300 RMB from him. The confrontation caused panic among other employees, who fled and alerted the authorities.

When police arrived, Chen refused to surrender his weapons. He resisted arrest and fired his air gun at the officers, causing abrasions and contusions to their legs and wrists. The court considered Chen's lack of remorse, his failure to reach a settlement with the victims, and his past criminal record for assault in handing down the sentence.
