Rock in Rio Lisboa announces 2028 dates

The Rock in Rio Lisboa festival has announced its 12th edition will be held on June 17-18 and 24-25, 2028, returning to the Parque Tejo/Papa Francisco site in the Portuguese capital.

This year's 11th edition, which concluded recently, drew an impressive crowd of around 330,000 attendees from 127 countries. The festival featured a star-studded lineup including Rod Stewart, Cindy Lauper, Katy Perry, Charlie Puth, Linkin Park, 21 Savage, Cypress Hill, Kaiser Chiefs, Lola Índigo, and Bebe Rexha.

Roberta Medina, vice-president of Rock in Rio Lisboa, emphasized the festival's significant global appeal and its contribution to Portugal's standing as a premier destination for culture, tourism, and entertainment. She noted that hosting international visitors and world-class artists creates moments shared globally.

A notable new feature of this edition was an aerial display by the Yakstars team, performing acrobatic maneuvers with five Yak-52 planes synchronized to original music. The festival also saw thousands of attendees wearing national colors for a "Momento Força Portugal" event, fostering a sense of collective celebration. A survey indicated that visitors rated the festival an average of eight out of ten.
