Rodri arrives in Spain to join Barcelona

Rodri, the captain of Spain's World Cup-winning squad, has arrived in Barcelona to complete his move from Manchester City, stating that playing for the Catalan club is a dream realized. The midfielder expressed his happiness at resolving matters after a challenging period and his eagerness to join his new teammates.

"I am very happy to be here after difficult days, but I am happy to have resolved everything," Rodri told reporters upon his arrival. "Playing for Barcelona is a dream come true, and I am excited to be with my teammates, whom I know well. It's time to work and give my best."

Barcelona, under German coach Hansi Flick, is bolstering its squad in pursuit of a third consecutive league title. Rodri's signing follows that of English forward Antony Gordon, who is expected to replace the departing Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres. The club is also reportedly close to signing Joao Cancelo.

Rodri will undergo medical examinations as the clubs finalize the transfer agreement. His arrival adds significant strength to Barcelona's midfield, and he will join several Spanish national teammates already at the club, including Lamine Yamal, Dani Olmo, Pau Cubarsí, Gavi, and Pedri.
