Spain's midfielder Rodri has earned the highest individual honor at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, being recognized as the tournament's best player and awarded the Golden Ball. His pivotal role was instrumental in Spain's victory, securing their second World Cup title after a 1-0 win against Argentina in extra time.

Despite not being a prolific goal scorer, Rodri's impact on Spain's gameplay was immense. The 30-year-old midfielder was the primary architect of the team's attacks, controlling the tempo, dictating the game's rhythm, and providing crucial balance between offense and defense. FIFA statistics revealed Rodri's dominance in the midfield, where he completed an impressive 648 accurate passes, the highest number in the entire tournament.
