Romania: Titularizare 2026 exam results to be released today

Candidates in Romania who took the written exam for the 2026 Titularizare competition, a crucial contest for securing teaching positions, are set to receive their scores today, July 28, 2026. This exam is the primary pathway for educators to gain permanent employment within the Romanian education system.

Out of more than 41,600 individuals who initially applied, over 37,000 met the conditions to participate in the written test. Passing the Titularizare competition with a minimum score of 7.00 grants candidates the opportunity to apply for stable, permanent positions, valid for at least four years. If no such posts are available in their desired county and subject, they can apply for temporary positions. The final placement of candidates will occur through public sessions following the announcement of definitive results.

The written exam, held on July 21, 2026, tested candidates' specialized knowledge and teaching methodologies over a four-hour period, with extensions possible in special circumstances. Those who participated had previously achieved at least a score of 5.00 in special class inspections or practical tests. Among the 37,386 participants, 7,510 were recent graduates from pedagogical high schools, post-secondary institutions, or university programs.

The Ministry of Education reported that during the registration period, over 41,600 applications were filed nationwide. Of these, more than 8,600 were from recent graduates. Due to the possibility of applying in multiple counties, the 37,386 eligible candidates submitted over 39,900 applications. The most sought-after disciplines included specific subjects for preschool and primary education taught in Romanian, physical education and sports, Romanian language and literature, and special psychopedagogy.

We mention that, in the interval allocated for registration, candidates had the possibility to submit/transmit registration files in several counties (as a result, for the 37,386 candidates who have the right to participate in the written test, over 39,900 registration files were registered).
