Romanian Influencer and Boyfriend Sentenced After Stealing 36,500 Euro Louis Vuitton Bracelet

A Romanian TikTok influencer and her partner have been sentenced by the Grasse Tribunal in France for the theft of a white gold Louis Vuitton bracelet valued at 36,500 euros. The incident occurred at the luxury brand's boutique on the famous Croisette boulevard in Cannes.

The theft took place when a display stand was left unattended inside the Louis Vuitton store. Andra A., 30, a TikToker with approximately 70,000 followers, seized the opportunity, concealing the bracelet beneath her mobile phone. She then left the store with her 33-year-old partner, Ștefan A., who is also Romanian.

Store personnel noticed the bracelet's disappearance and alerted authorities. Surveillance camera footage enabled the identification of the couple, who were later seen dining in a Cannes restaurant before disappearing from the monitored area. They were apprehended two days later during a police operation targeting pickpockets. The stolen bracelet was found on the influencer when she was stopped, although it reportedly sustained minor damage.

During a search of their hotel room, authorities discovered several other luxury items with purchase documents, as well as other products still bearing price tags. Police also found 2,830 euros in cash. Tried under a fast-track procedure for aggravated theft, the couple claimed they did not intend to steal. The Romanian woman stated she could not explain her actions and was going through a difficult period. Prosecutors, however, argued the act was intentional, especially since the bracelet was still on her wrist at the time of arrest.

The court sentenced the couple to 10 and 12 months in prison, respectively, to be served under electronic supervision. Additionally, each received a 5,000 euro fine. The judges also imposed a five-year ban on entering the French department of Alpes-Maritimes.
