Sixteen Romanian police officers have been honored by French authorities for their crucial role in locating and capturing notorious French drug trafficker Mohamed Amra. Amra, known as "The Fly," was arrested in Romania nine months after his dramatic escape from France, an event that resulted in the deaths of two prison guards and injuries to three others. He was wanted on three European arrest warrants for charges including escape, murder, drug trafficking, and unlawful confinement. His capture was widely celebrated by French officials, including President Emmanuel Macron, who hailed it as a "formidable success."
