Romanian President Attends Official Dinner Hosted by Turkish President at NATO Summit

Romanian President Nicușor Dan is participating in a reception and official dinner hosted by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan as part of the NATO summit in Ankara. The event, attended by heads of state and government, is a key moment for the alliance's future, with a focus on defense spending and military contracts.

The summit's atmosphere is reportedly strained by tensions between Washington and European nations, particularly concerning restrictions on U.S. military operations against Iran. President Dan is joined by interim Defense Minister Radu Miruță and the Chief of the Defense Staff, Gheorghiță Vlad, who is currently under investigation.

Romania's delegation also includes representatives from the Ministry of National Defense, the Ministry of Economy, Digitalization, Entrepreneurship and Tourism, and national defense industry companies. The interim Defense Minister will also attend a meeting of NATO defense ministers with Indo-Pacific partners, including Australia, Japan, New Zealand, and South Korea.
