Romanian Theater Festival Empowers Children, Builds Confidence

The Children's Palace in Slatina has once again proven itself a vibrant hub for nurturing young talent, successfully hosting the 11th edition of its renowned theater festival, "Se caută un actor." This year's event saw an impressive turnout, with over 160 students from primary and middle schools across Olt county and neighboring regions like Vâlcea, Dolj, Argeș, Gorj, and even Bucharest, gracing the stage.

All extracurricular activities are for the benefit of children, and at the Children's Palace, children have a very wide range of courses to choose from, so they can forget about their phones.

The festival, which has grown in popularity each year, provides a crucial platform for children to develop essential life skills beyond the classroom. Participants engage in rigorous preparation, rehearsing skits and monologues, and learning to manage their nerves in front of an audience. The event is not merely a competition but a comprehensive developmental program, fostering confidence, communication abilities, and the capacity for collaborative work.

It is about the art of speaking in front of others without emotion. It helps them in everything they do in their daily lives.

Organizers, like Mădălina Balica, coordinator of the theater circle at the Children's Palace, expressed their delight at the increasing number of participants and the return of seasoned troupes. I had many in previous years too, but it seems like this year there are even more. We have children from Olt county, from 15 school units, we have from Vâlcea, Dolj, Argeș, Gorj and Bucharest.
