Brazilian football icon Ronaldinho Gaúcho has landed in Italy to be formally introduced as the newest player for Ravenna, a club competing in Serie C. The 46-year-old superstar's move, announced in June, is primarily a commercial strategy for the Italian team, with expectations that he will participate in at least one official match.

Upon arriving at Forlì airport, Ronaldinho was greeted with fanfare, and the club shared images of him performing his signature 'shaka' gesture. The Ballon d'Or winner and former Brazil international traveled from Milan, where he previously played, and reportedly met with Luka Modrić, sharing the encounter on social media.

Ronaldinho's return to professional football is linked to Ravenna's president, Ignazio Cipriani. Cipriani, whose family owns the Cipriani restaurant group, acquired the club in 2024 with the aim of growing it and strengthening its connection to his hometown. The partnership with Ronaldinho is designed to enhance the club's international profile and brand reach, supported by partners like Black Duck and commercial agreements with Nike.

While the exact date of Ronaldinho's debut remains undisclosed, the club anticipates he will play an official game. During his initial presentation in Miami, Ronaldinho emphasized that his primary motivation remains the happiness football brings him.
