Ronie Carrillo joins Emelec after scoring 10 goals in Liga Pro

Emelec officially confirmed the signing of Ecuadorian forward Ronie Carrillo on August 6, 2026. The 29-year-old striker joins the Guayaquil-based club after establishing himself as one of the most effective attackers in the 2026 Liga Pro, where he netted 10 goals.

The club announced the transfer on social media, welcoming Carrillo with a message highlighting his "goal, power, and presence in the area to strengthen our attack." Emelec also confirmed that Carrillo had completed his medical examinations prior to signing his contract.

Carrillo, born in Quito on September 8, 1996, stands 1.86 meters tall and plays as a center forward. He began his youth career at Liga de Quito and later played for Espoli and Deportivo Quito, making his Serie A debut in 2014. He gained significant attention in 2016 with América de Quito, scoring 33 goals in 36 matches and finishing as the top scorer in the Second Category, playing a key role in the club's promotion.

Throughout his career, Carrillo has played for several Ecuadorian and international clubs, including Liga de Quito, Universidad Católica, América de Quito, Aucas, Liga de Portoviejo, El Nacional, Portugal's Portimonense, Brazil's Juventude, and Inter de Limeira, Botafogo-SP, and Mushuc Runa. His recent performance with Mushuc Runa, where he scored 10 goals in the 2026 Liga Pro, attracted Emelec's interest. The forward has now scored a total of 100 professional goals across various divisions.
