Roughriders roll past winless Redblacks 42-20

The Saskatchewan Roughriders secured a decisive 42-20 victory over the Ottawa Redblacks, deepening the latter's winless streak in the CFL season. This loss marks a grim milestone for the Redblacks, who are still searching for their first win and now face a 14-game regular-season losing streak that stretches back to the 2025 season.

The Roughriders, the defending Grey Cup champions, improved their standing to 6-2 with this commanding performance. After trailing early in the third quarter, Saskatchewan mounted a significant comeback, scoring three consecutive touchdowns to seize control of the game. Rookie receiver Dylan Djete scored his first CFL touchdown, and Tommy Stevens added three rushing touchdowns, bringing his season total to 11.

Quarterback Trevor Harris also reached a career milestone, surpassing 40,000 passing yards during the game. He now ranks 12th in CFL history for career passing yards. The Roughriders' offense showcased its strength, with Harris completing 30 of 38 passes for 401 yards, connecting with KeeSean Johnson multiple times, including for a touchdown just before halftime that gave Saskatchewan a 13-6 lead.

Looking ahead, the Redblacks will aim to break their losing streak when they visit the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on August 14. The Roughriders are set to play the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on August 15.
