Royal Canin Celebrates 10 Years in Turkey, Reaching 6.4 Million Pets

Royal Canin is marking a decade of operations in Turkey with a celebration themed "10 Years Transforming Animal Health. A Lifetime Commitment." Since establishing its own organization in 2016, the company has focused on animal health, education, and social responsibility initiatives.

Data shared by the company reveals significant reach over the last 10 years. A total of 6.4 million cats and dogs have been impacted, with 3.4 million benefiting from specialized nutritional solutions. The company also contributed to the development of approximately 30,000 kittens and puppies and supported the nutritional management of 60,000 sick animals during their treatment.

Royal Canin offers a diverse portfolio in Turkey, featuring over 300 products tailored to different life stages and health needs of cats and dogs. Founded globally in 1968 by veterinarian Jean Cathary, the company has over 58 years of experience in pet nutrition. In Turkey, operations previously managed by distributors have been handled directly by the company since 2016.

Educational activities for veterinarians, students, and animal health professionals form another key pillar of Royal Canin's work in Turkey. The company reports reaching 30,000 stakeholders through 400 events. Approximately 10,000 veterinary faculty students have been reached over the past decade, with initiatives like the Masters of Tomorrow (MOT) program and the Clinical Skills Laboratory at Bursa Uludağ University supporting their practical training. Additionally, Royal Canin stated it connected with around 12,000 veterinarians and shared information with 15,000 veterinary clinics and pet shops nationwide, participating in about 70 scientific congresses and 400 training events.

Aslı Çelikkol, Royal Canin Eurasia Regional General Manager, reflected on the company's 10-year journey in Turkey. "As Royal Canin, we have brought our global scientific expertise of over 58 years to our work in Turkey, carrying out various studies in cat and dog health and veterinary medicine over the last 10 years," she said. "Our collaborations with veterinarians, pet shops, animal health and care professionals, and pet owners have been important parts of this period." Çelikkol added that future plans include expanding the scope of training and support programs to further contribute to healthier lives for more cats and dogs. The company's social responsibility efforts have also been substantial, with 200 tons of food donated, reaching approximately 3 million stray animals across Turkey.
