Russia threatens UK military sites in response to Ukraine attacks

Russia has issued a stark warning to the United Kingdom, threatening to target British military facilities outside of Ukraine. The threat comes as retaliation for attacks on Russian territory allegedly carried out with British-supplied weapons.

Maria Zakharova, spokesperson for Russia's Foreign Ministry, stated that London and Paris are attempting to absolve themselves of responsibility for attacks on Russian soil by providing certain military systems to Ukraine. She asserted that this tactic would not succeed and directly blamed Paris, London, and Berlin for "terrorist attacks."

Zakharova specifically mentioned the transfer of Storm Shadow cruise missiles from the UK to Ukraine since 2023. She noted that London plans to provide Kyiv with the necessary information for the production of these missiles. She also pointed out that the Ukrainian army has conducted attacks on Russian territory using these missiles.

She also labeled Finnish President Alexander Stubb a "terrorist" for justifying drone attacks on Russian infrastructure, stating that Finland and other "unfriendly countries" would face measured responses in line with Russia's national interests.
