Rs 240 million designated for Bhanu Sahitya Udyan

Nepal is advancing a significant national project to honor its first poet, Bhanu Bhakta Acharya, by transforming his birthplace in Chundi Ramgha into an international literary center. The 'Bhanu Sahitya Udyan' (Bhanu Literary Park) is taking shape in Bhanu Municipality-4, with construction underway on approximately 500 ropanis of land.

The first phase of development has begun with a substantial government allocation. The Urban Development and Building Department has earmarked Rs 240 million for the upcoming year. This budget will fund the creation of diverse infrastructure outlined in the master plan. Key features will include a modern 'Bhanu Bhavan,' a full-sized statue of Acharya, a Saptadham, a Sahitya Gram, a Pragya Bhavan, and a technology-enabled ticket counter.

Mayor Anandraj Tripathi of Bhanu Municipality highlighted the project's organized and environmentally conscious approach, noting the finalization of the Initial Environmental Examination (IEE) report. The master plan also incorporates replicas of significant religious and cultural heritage from Nepal's seven provinces, alongside statues of other prominent Nepali literary figures.

This initiative has received a special impetus from President Ramchandra Paudel, who laid the foundation stone for the park on April 27, recognizing it as a project of national pride. The development aims to establish Chundi Ramgha not just as a historical site but as a vibrant hub for academic and literary pursuits on an international scale.

Through the Department of Urban Development and Building Construction, Rs. 240 million has been allocated for this project of national pride in the upcoming year. Infrastructure development will be executed according to the multi-year plan utilising this budget.
