RSS expresses grief over Ram temple donation irregularities

The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has placed the alleged embezzlement of donations for the Ram temple in Ayodhya at the forefront of its discussions during its annual organizational meeting. The Hindu nationalist organization expressed deep concern over the irregularities, while also conveying confidence that the ongoing investigation will yield decisive results.

Everyone expressed grief over the incident of irregularities in the counting of the donation box offerings at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir and were confident that the ongoing SIT and police action, initiated at the request of the Teerth Kshetra Nyas, will reach a decisive turn.

During the three-day Akhil Bharatiya Prant Pracharak Baithak in Belagavi, RSS leaders and functionaries discussed the allegations that crores of rupees from cash and other offerings at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir were misappropriated. The RSS statement emphasized the need for both accountability and preventative measures to preserve public trust in the temple's administration. They urged the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirtha Kshetra Trust to ensure such incidents do not recur, which could undermine the faith of devotees.

Sunil Ambekar, RSS All India Convenor for Communications, briefed reporters, stating that the Ayodhya issue received detailed attention. He noted that most speakers expressed confidence in the Special Investigation Team of the Uttar Pradesh Police. The investigation was initiated following a request from the temple trust itself. Ambekar added that the trust is expected to manage temple activities in a manner that respects and upholds the faith of all Ram devotees.

It was expected of the Teerth Kshetra Nyas to ensure that no such incident occurs in the future which could hurt the reverence and deep faith of all Ram Bhakts towards the Ram Mandir.

Beyond the Ayodhya temple issue, the meeting served as a platform to review the RSS's activities over the past year and to deliberate on a range of national and organizational matters. These included discussions on demographic trends, the upcoming census, rural development, family welfare, disaster management, and environmental protection. Concerns were also raised regarding perceived demographic changes and population imbalance across India.
