Minister for Housing James Browne is expected to present a memo concerning defective concrete blocks found in some social housing homes. Government sources indicate that potentially as many as 2,400 social housing units across Ireland could be affected by this issue, necessitating changes to the existing Remediation of Dwellings Damaged By The Use of Defective Concrete Blocks Act 2022.

Furthermore, the cabinet is slated to discuss funding for additional third-level education places. Minister for Further and Higher Education James Lawless is seeking approval for €37 million in additional funding. This funding aims to create 274 new training places in health and social care professions, including occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, psychology, social work, and social care.
