Rudersdal Mayor Takes Sick Leave After Doctors Find Pelvic Lump

Rudersdal Mayor Ann Sofie Orth has taken sick leave with immediate effect after doctors found a lump in her pelvis, the municipality said on its website.

Orth, who represents the Conservative Party, will undergo treatment. First Deputy Mayor Court Møller of the Radical Left will serve as acting mayor while she is away.

Municipal Chief Executive Birgitte Lundgren said the organization and municipal council stood behind Orth and wanted her to have the peace and time needed to recover.

“We wish Ann Sofie all the best in the treatment process that now awaits her,” Lundgren said. “Our focus first and foremost is that she gets the peace to get well.” The municipality will jointly manage its responsibilities until Orth returns.
