Russia Attacks Kherson and Zaporizhzhia Overnight, Causing Fatalities

Russian forces launched overnight attacks on the southern Ukrainian cities of Kherson and Zaporizhzhia, causing fatalities and significant damage. In Kherson, drone strikes in the city center shortly after midnight resulted in two deaths and two injuries, according to regional military administration head Oleh Prokudin. Across the Ukrainian-controlled parts of the Kherson region, 14 people were injured in the past day.

In Zaporizhzhia, located in southeastern Ukraine, Russian forces targeted a shopping center. The facility was destroyed, though preliminary reports suggest no casualties. However, the attack left nearly 1,200 customers without electricity, as reported by Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia regional administration.

In total, 14 people were injured in the Ukrainian-controlled part of the Kherson region over the last day.

Over the past 24 hours in the wider Zaporizhzhia region, one person was killed and nine were injured. Meanwhile, in Odesa, a Russian drone struck the fifth floor of a residential building, but authorities reported no injuries resulting from the incident.
